The picture of Pilot Mountain (Mount Pilot to Mayberry Fans) above was taken in 2012 from our cabin at Piper's Gap, Va.

A controlled burn got out of hand and burned several hundred acres before it was put out. The picture below is what you normally see, with the city of Winston Salem just visible on the right of the mountain.
